Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost Scott Waugh has announced that starting in Fall 2017, all UCLA deans, department chairs, vice chancellors, and vice provosts will receive a Leadership Briefing from the Discrimination Prevention Office.

The Leadership Briefing

Description

The Discrimination Prevention Office opened in Fall 2014 in response to the Moreno Report. Since then, the Office has been investigating complaints of discrimination and harassment based on race, national origin, religion, age, and other categories protected by law and University policy. The Office is also charged with providing training and education on discrimination and harassment to UCLA faculty and members of the campus leadership.

The Leadership Briefing is provided for deans, department chairs, vice chancellors, and vice provosts. Equity Advisors are also invited to attend.

The Briefing covers applicable laws, policies, and procedures concerning discrimination, harassment and retaliation, as well as reporting obligations and the complaint investigation process.

Upcoming Leadership Briefings

Briefings take place in the UCLA Faculty Center.  For morning sessions, Continental breakfast will be served. For afternoon sessions, refreshments will be served.

➡ All attendees must RSVP at least two weeks before the scheduled briefing.
