Featuring distinguished guests, Jerry Kang (Vice Chancellor of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion) and Devon Carbado (Associate Vice Chancellor of BruinX for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion & the Honorable Harry Pregerson Professor of Law), this mixer aims to provide an innovative space to bring together UCLA students, undergraduates and graduate students alike, with the Office of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in a productive dialogue about campus climate and coalition building strategies.
And of course, catering also will be provided at this event!
We invite everyone to meet us, the Student Advisory Board, as we introduce ourselves more in depth and our role in the EDI Office, as well as engaging in conversations with us, VC Kang, and AVC Carbado about the most salient topics related to creating an environment that allows all student voices to be more recognized, understood, and celebrated in the spirit of inclusion.
The mixer will consist of facilitated discussion headed by SAB members, as well as Q&A with VC Kang and AVC Carbado with questions provided by you (the students) in a live panel setting. / WHO WE ARE /
This past May, VC Kang invited students to apply for the inaugural Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Student Advisory Board. Each Board Member has a proven track record of caring deeply about equity and hustling to change the communities and institutions around them for the better. These students will serve as advisors, liaisons, and problem solvers who will support the Office’s mission of building equity for all.

The School of Law is located in the Law Building and Dodd Hall, which are nearest to the Wyton Drive entrance off of Hilgard Avenue in the northeast area of UCLA’s campus.
Coming from The Hill, the Shapiro Courtyard is the outdoor area just behind Dodd Hall. Dodd Hall is located past the Sunken Gardens (Dickson Court), across the street from Murphy Hall and adjacent to Luvalle Commons.
