Dear Bruin Community:
UCLA’s Office of Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) is pleased to announce the 2024–2025 EDI Student Leadership Award. The EDI Student Leadership Award recognizes the contributions of UCLA students who have exhibited exceptional leadership in work that aligns with and contributes to the EDI mission and dimensions at UCLA.
This is an annual award provided to individual students enrolled in undergraduate, graduate and professional degree programs at UCLA. Recipients will receive a $500 award and a commemorative gift to honor their achievements.
The nomination submission deadline for the 2024–2025 award cycle is December 1, 2024.
Nomination Procedures
Nominations must be submitted via the online nomination form by the published deadline (see below). Please note that incomplete and/or late submissions will not be considered.
Nominations (both self and by others) must include:
- A one-page Statement of Contribution
- A copy of nominee’s resume/curriculum vitae
- Contact information for 1–3 professional references who can validate the nominee’s EDI work*
*Acceptable references include, but are not limited to, professors/TAs, current or former supervisors, advisors, etc.
Submission Deadline
11:59 p.m. (PST) on December 1, 2024
Selection Criteria
A selection committee will use a standardized rubric to evaluate online submissions based on the following criteria:
- Alignment with UCLA’s EDI mission and dimensions
- Leadership in EDI-related service, programming or research at UCLA
- Innovation in addressing EDI issues within the UCLA community
- Demonstrated history of engagement in EDI efforts
Award Notification
Mid/End January 2025*
*Only award recipients will be notified of award status.
