On February 20, 2024, Interim Vice Provost for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Mitchell Chang and Assistant Vice Chancellor for Civil Rights Chandra Bhatnagar issued the following statement to the UCLA community, announcing the launch of a new UC Systemwide Office of Civil Rights (SOCR) and the issuance of the new UC Anti-Discrimination Policy.

Duty to Report Sexual Violence, Sexual Harassment and all Forms of Discrimination
On December 6, 2023, AVC for Civil Rights Chandra Bhatnagar and Title IX Director Mohammed Cato issued a biannual reminder for all UCLA employees, including student employees, of the duty to report allegations of discrimination and/or harassment based on all protected categories as well as sexual violence and sexual harassment.
